Sarwar slams Opp for hindering economic policies
LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said the mission of Prime Minister Imran Khan to make Pakistan a Madina-like welfare state will be completed. Only those who serve humanity are remembered in history, not those who have more wealth. Obstructing the government’s economic policies is anti-people plan of the opposition, said the Punjab governor while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a 600-bed private hospital on Wednesday and talking to the media.
The hospital CEO Dr Abdul Bari Khan, Mian Talat Mahmood Anwar A Khan, and Iqbal Qureshi from the business community were also present. The Punjab governor visited various departments of the hospital and lauded philanthropists for providing excellent healthcare facilities to the poor patients.
He said the government's top priority, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, was to provide basic facilities like health and education to the people, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan would succeed in the mission of making Pakistan the Madina-like state. He said the PTI government was introducing reforms in the institutions, and freeing them from political interference as institutions got destroyed by political interference. He said that Insaf Card was a revolutionary programme in the field of health and every citizen of Punjab would be provided this facility during the current year.
The Insaf card holder will be able get free medical treatment from any hospital. He said it was a clear policy of the government that no hurdle to development and welfare of the people would be tolerated, and despite all obstacles of political opponents, the mission of development, prosperity, and public welfare in the country would be continued, adding that the PTI government would fulfill the promises made to the people.
Chaudhry Sarwar said the project of the hospital for the poor was an ideal and exceptional project in all respects and the role played by the philanthropists in this cause was commendable. While appreciating the philanthropists, he said that the philanthropists of Pakistan had no match in the world and they had always lent a helping hand in difficult times, adding that even during the coronavirus pandemic, philanthropists helped the poor and provided ration to them at their doorstep.
