Islamabad: The University of North Carolina, Wilmington, USA, has planned to establish the Centre for Teaching Excellence at the International Islamic University (IIU).
The plan was discussed by two UNCW representatives
Dr. Carrie Clements and Dr. Lance Cummings during a meeting with IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh here.
Dr. Munawar Iqbal Gondal, dean of the IIU Faculty of Language and Literature, also attended the meeting in which matters related to the CTE came under discussion.
The IIU and the UNCW have already developed an academic partnership to implement a collaborative model of professional development in teaching, research and community engagement.
In the meeting, Dr. Carrie Clements said she was hopeful that the CTE would expand gradually, while the number of its programmes would go up in near future.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh assured visitors of the maximum cooperation to expand the bilateral collaboration.
He said the IIU was keen to expand cooperation, faculty exchange programmes and research activities.
