A female head constable was suspended after a video circulated on social media showing her collecting extortion money from pushcart vendors on Thursday.
As the bachat bazaars have been banned during the lockdown, the video showed the cop demanding and collecting extortion money from pushcart vendors in a bachat bazaar in the Korangi area against allowing them to continue their commercial activities.
As the video went viral on social media, District Korangi SSP Faisal Abdullah Chachar took notice of the incident, suspended the female cop and also issued show cause notices to the Korangi SHO and the head Moharir.
