Prince Harry talks about ‘hard days’ as he discusses social media

Prince Harry is adamant in working towards safeguarding rights of people using social media.

The Duke of Sussex admits new reform and government regulations should be formed to protect users from crime.

During a speech at the IAPP—International Association of Privacy Professionals summit in 2026, the father-of-two said: “I’m assuming most days are hard days.”

Prince Harry said people are “always being kept awake at night because of what you’re seeing, what you know is wrong.”

“By this point [internet privacy reform] has already taken far too long, but I do feel like we are on the cusp of something transformational,” Harry noted.

Speaking about wife Meghan Markle’s struggles with social media hatred, Harry added: “You understand very quickly the preventable suffering and how wide that goes.”

The Duke said that “it was because of the time spent on social media and the content being pushed their way.”
