Jamie Lee Curtis embraces new role in life: 'Greatest lessons, hardest days'

Jamie Lee Curtis is a proud grandma now!

During a recent episode of Michelle Obama's podcast, IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson, the 67-year-old actress revealed the happy news that her oldest daughter Annie, became a mother.

The 37-year-old daughter of Jamie gave birth to a baby boy back in December after Annie’s godparents, Rob and Michele Reiner.

“The truth is that the greatest lessons [and] the hardest days ever in my life have been being a parent, and now a grandparent,” Jamie admitted during the podcast.

She then continued to reveal, “My husband and I became grandparents to our eldest daughter and her husband.”

The 'Freaky Friday' star shed light that for Annie, it was a death and birth experience, as she lost her godparent and gave birth to her baby in the same month.

“Their baby boy was born in December, and it was a week after Rob and Michele [died], and Rob and Michele are her godparents,” Jamie shared while she got emotional.

“They died on her birthday. My beautiful daughter, who loved them as we all did, managed to be able to metabolize that grief and sadness … [and then] brought their son into this world a week later," the doting mom noted.

Why did Jamie not reveal the news before? she added, "We never talked about it. It’s been a private matter. In our circle, many people know that we’re grandparents. One of these days, somebody [is] gonna say something, and I am getting to say it.”
