Blake Lively breaks silence after judge dropped her major claims against Justin Baldoni
Lively and Baldoni's trial is all set to begin in New York on May 18
Blake Lively has spoken after majoriy of her claims against Justin Bladoni has been tossed out by a federal judge.
As per a ruling by Judge Lewis J. Liman given on Thursday on Baldoni’s bid to end the case before its May 18 trial, Ten of the 13 claims that Lively made are dismissed by the court, including harassment, defamation, and conspiracy.
The court has allowed Lively to pursue a certain set of allegations, including retaliation-related claims and breach of contract, to move forward to trial.
In response, Sigrid McCawley, member of Lively’s legal team, said in a statement, “This case has always been and will remain focused on the devasting [sic] retaliation and the extraordinary steps the defendants took to destroy Blake Lively’s reputation because she stood up for safety on the set and that is the case that is going to trial.
“For Blake Lively, the greatest measure of justice is that the people and the playbook behind these coordinated digital attacks have been exposed and are already being held accountable by other women they’ve targeted. She looks forward to testifying at trial and continuing to shine a light on this vicious form of online retaliation so that it becomes easier to detect and fight.”
Sigrid clarified that Lively's “Sexual harassment" claim "isn’t going forward not because the defendants did nothing wrong but because the court determined Blake Lively was an independent contractor, not an employee.”
It is pertinent to mention that Lively filed the lawsuit against Baldoni back in December 2024 after the actor and director's alleged misconduct on the set of 'It Ends with Us.'
