MD says BKTEF educating 7,000 students

The Bacha Khan Trust Education Foundation (BKTEF) is providing education to 7,000 students at 15 schools in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an official said.

Speaking at a function arranged at the Bacha Khan Markaz, BKTEF Managing Director Dr Khadim Hussain said that the foundation was providing an alternative educational model. He said that it was working for a social change as the school system was promoting critical thinking. The managing director said that the education system was a continuation of the Khudai Khidmatgar Movement. He said that 300 teachers of the BKTEF schools were preparing children for leadership roles, adding that their education system focuses on activity-based learning.

Dr Khadim Hussain said that visual arts, performing arts, folklore and crafts were an essential part of the education system. He said that students of the BKTEF schools have secured

scholarships abroad while it had achieved 100 percent results.

The BKTEF students presented tableau on the second day of the Bacha Khan Week at the Bacha Khan Markaz. ANP general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak also spoke on the occasion.

Cops reshuffled

The authorities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police transferred and posted a number of officers on Tuesday. According to a notification issued here, Superintendent of Police, operations, Dera Ismail Khan Najmul Hassnain was posted as SP Rural in Peshawar while Zulfiqar Ahmad Tanoli was posted as District Police Officer Upper Chitral. Besides, DSP Shaukat Ali was posted as acting DPO in South Waziristan while his predecessor Mohammad Shafiq was closed to Central Police Office.
