Rally urges Islamic nations to check American meddling
ISLAMABAD: A rally was taken out from Aabpara intersection towards the United States Embassy to sensitise the Islamic countries about what the speakers said the imperialist American policy of interference and targeting them one by one under the garb of being their well-wisher.
The event, titled 'Down with America,’ was organised under the aegis of Ittehad-e-Ummat Forum and led by Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen Secretary General Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffary, also participated by a large number of women and children, besides people from different schools of thought.
Speakers said that the prime objective of the rally was to raise voice against the American increasing interference in the Islamic countries in the region.
Speaking to the rally, Allama Nasir said that the troika of US, Israel and India had put the global peace at stake and cautioned that if the Islamic nations wanted to survive and peace, they should not allow any outside meddling in their internal matters, including the US. “Those, who are taking pride in being friends of America, must remember its past as to how like a snake, it hit them hard in the garb of a friend,” he maintained.
About the recent US attack on key Iranian general Qasim Soleimani in Iraq, he said that Americans had tried in vain to pave the way for global terrorist outfit Daesh to revive itself after having been almost eliminated.
He believed that Iran had courageously and sagaciously retaliated to the US attack and wanted other Muslim countries to demonstrate same courage to keep America away from themselves.
Allama Nasir bitterly criticised the PTI-led government’s foreign policy and alleged the policy had been a complete failure and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi tried to be the spokesperson of the White House. He asserted Qureshi should be removed from the federal cabinet for not representing Pakistan and sentiments of its people. “Qureshi preferred US interests over national dignity and this has exposed the claim of following an independent foreign policy,” he asserted.
Others, who also spoke on the occasion, included Assad Ullah, Allama Abbas Qomi, Zahid Mehdavi, Allama Tanvir Jaffary, Fida Hussain and Zahid Jaffary. The participants of the rally carried posters and banners, inscribed with slogans against US and its President Donald Trump. Several participants also carried images of Qasim Soleimani as a mark of tribute to him.
Through a communication, Ittehad e Ummat Forum conveyed a message to US and the world bodies. The communication says, “Ambassador of United States to Pakistan. On behalf of Pakistani nation, we take out a peaceful protest rally to share our reaction to illegal and unlawful US attacks on sovereign nations. Please convey this to the US government, including principal officials and institutions. Please share it with Capitol Hill, White House, Department of the State and Pentagon”.
The communication further adds, “Pakistani nation has strong reasons to condemn illegal US airstrikes in sovereign countries, especially the latest airstrikes in Iraq. Great nation of Pakistan may recall illegal US airstrikes that killed Pakistan army soldiers in Salala and other incidents. Pakistanis also recollect Raymond Davis case. Pakistanis cannot forget that prior to US proxy war against USSR in Afghanistan, there was no al-Qaeda. Prior to US invasion in Iraq, there was no ISIS (Daesh). This shows a link between these notorious terror outfits and US agencies. Former British official Robin Cook on record said al-Qaeda was product of “miscalculation” of Western intelligence agencies. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on record admitted US role. History is replete with unlawful US attacks that killed civilians in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran, let alone military officials.
