PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial head Sikandar Sherpao on Thursday said that the provincial government had failed to secure the rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was addressing a public gathering in Tarnab Union Council in Charsadda where known social and political worker Manzoor Janbaz announced to join the QWP along with the family members and supporters. Sikandar Sherpao said that the provincial government of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been unable to secure the arrears of the net hydel profit from the federal government. He added that a single penny could not be released to KP which showed the lackluster performance of the incumbent rulers.

The QWP leader said that the federal government was also dragging its feet to convene the meeting of the National Finance Commission Award to give the province its due share. “The provincial government seems to be helpless in front of the federal government and is acting like a silent spectator instead of pleading the case of the province effectively,” he sneered. Sikandar Sherpao added that the KP should be given its dues of the net hydel profit as per the AGN Kazi formula. He added that the provincial government must not compromise on the rights of the province.
