Girls’ hostel of Government College University (GCU) Lahore has been named after Mader-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah.

A notification in this regard has been issued here on Thursday with the approval of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi. A boys’ hostel of GCU Lahore was already named after Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Old Ravians and the female students highly appreciated the decision. Vice Chancellor Prof Zaidi said that Fatima Jinnah was a beacon of light for the Muslim women. She was an inspiration for them to stand and work shoulder-to-shoulder with men. “Apart from leading the nation at a critical hour in its history, Miss Jinnah’s genius helped developing of a modern Muslim female persona,” he said.
