Two brothers die in clash over money
FAISALABAD: Two brothers died and two sustained injuries in a fight over monetary dispute at Eden Valley on late Tuesday night. Reportedly, cloth merchant Haji Bashir Ahmad’s sons Muhammad Rasheed, Naveed Ahmad, Javed Ahmad, Muhammad Jameel and their brother in-law Ahsan Shahid were discussing a monetary dispute at their house. During the discussion, they exchanged harsh words and resorted to firing. As a result, Muhammad Rasheed and Naveed Ahmad died on the spot while Javed Ahmad, Muhammad Jameel and Ahsan Shahid sustained critical injuries.
59 DRUG PEDDLERS, 21 GAMBLERS HELD: Faisalabad police Tuesday night arrested 59 drug peddlers, 13 illegal weapon-holders and 21 gamblers. According to the City Police Officer (CPO), police of different stations recovered 54 kilograms charas and 250 litre liquor from drug peddlers and detained 21 gamblers with Rs 20,000 stake money. He said police recovered four Kalashnikovs, seven pistols and two rifles from 13 people. The CPO vowed continuing hectic crackdown on drug peddlers, illicit arms holders and gamblers.
