Andrew leaves King Charles no more moves to play: ‘Can’t just say we got nothing’
Buckingham Palace finds itself in a space its never had to navigate before and there is a chance they wont be able to: Here’s why
Buckingham Palace has reached the peak of PR crises’ ones that are no longer sweeping under the rug and seem impossible to placate given the nature of the allegations that surround them.
It’s even gotten to a point where royal expert Phil Dampier decided to come forward and explain how the British stiff upper lip and Queen Elizabeth’s ‘never complain, never explain’ motto might also be dead in the water, with the way Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been accused of living his life.
There’s also a lot of other things being said, namely that the royals’ efforts to project a ‘business as normal’ image via things like Prince William and Kate Middleton’s BAFTA appearance may not work anymore because even though “it helps to show that the show is carrying on, keep calm and carry on.”
The fact of the matter is that “the days of 'Never complain, never explain,' have clearly gone,” as Mr Dampier put it.
Also, according to Hello! “They can't just bury their heads in the sand and say we've got nothing to say about this. They're showing that The Firm is still working so Andrew is almost portrayed as one bad apple, so to speak.”
However, the current King of England completely changed the narrative the day he released a statement showcasing his “deepest concern” about his brother’s arrest and the allegations that followed said perdiciment.
“Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all,” King Charles’ statement read.
