Andrew Mountbatten Windsor gets new moniker after losing ‘Prince’ title
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor likes to be called a different name now that he has lost Royal titles
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been given a new name after losing his titles.
The ex Duke of York, who is living in Sandringham days after his arrest, will now be called ‘sir’ by his staff.
One source tells The Sun : “He’s lost his HRH, prince and duke titles and so staff, who didn’t know how to correctly address him, have been instructed that he is still to be called ‘Sir’.
“He will be given his own chef and valet at Marsh Farm which is a climbdown to the luxury he was previously afforded,” he noted.
The former Duke of York, who was arrested mid week, on the day of his 66th birthday, over suspicion of passing on private state information to Jeffrey Epstein, could land in trouble if tried and convicted.
The Spectator's Tim Shipman reported: "'The Palace is terrified' about what could potentially happen, my man with his snout in the royal rosebushes informs me."
The writer added: "They would like to see him tried and convicted and sent to prison, or tried and cleared, because that would at least draw a line under things.' This is fairly extraordinary."
