Saudi Arabia launches WRP in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has launched winter relief project (WRP) in Pakistan 2020 under King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief).

With the launch of project to distribute 30,000 winter bags (weighed 180 tons) in four provinces in Pakistan, and it will be done with the collaboration of the partner (SDO). Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Maliki, is supervising the operation.

According to details, the projects the KP will get 8,000 bags for six districts--Chitral, Shangla, Kohistan, Buner, Mansehra and Swat. Azad Kashmir will have 7,500 winter bags for six districts, including Neelum, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Haveli, Hattiyan Bala, and Bagh). 7500 winter bags for Gilgit Baltistan (GB) will be distributed in five districts and they are: Astor, Kharmang, Ghanche, Shigar, and Ghize. Balochistan will have 7,000-winter bags and its four districts Ziarat, Kallat, Pishin, Zhob will get the same. According to KS-Relief (Pakistan) each package contains two blankets, men’s and women’s shawls, 5 pairs of socks, gloves and caps at a total cost of $1.5 million and 150,000 individuals will benefit from this project. This project comes under the umbrella of humanitarian projects by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre to assist needy families living in the coldest areas in (21) regions across Pakistan. Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Maliki has assured that the distribution is being made on swift pace so that the needy should get the stuff well in time.
