Pakistan gold medal tally hits 14
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan won four more gold medals — two in taekwondo and one each in wushu and athletics — to raise the total tally of gold medals to 14 following Thursday competition.
Pakistan Mohammad Naeem clinched gold in 110m hurdles clocking 14.30sec to earn top position. Pakistan female athlete Sahib-e-Asra earned bronze in 400m.
Haroon Khan, who earlier had won silver, made the country proud by winning taekwondo gold in his favourite category. His teammate Rub Nawaz followed him to earn third gold medal for Pakistan at the Games. Jibran Masood won taekwondo silver medal. Mohammad Amjad Iqbal then made it fourteen gold medals for Pakistan by snatching gold in wushu.
Dawood Shahid, Saddam, Abdul Khaliq, Fatima won bronze in wushu while Saima Shahzad got bronze in women weightlifting. Till the time of filing this report on Thursday evening, Pakistan had won 14 gold, 18 silver and 29 bronze medals.
