LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday raided a steel mills on main Sheikhupura Road and detected there gas theft amounting to Rs 480 million.
It is learnt that the owner of Yaqoob Steel Mills was stealing gas from the main supply line in connivance with the staff of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited. Punjab FIA Director Muhammad Waqar Abbasi informed reporters that they also registered a case against the mill owner and the accused staff of the SNGPL.
He said a direct bypass of two inch diameter was created with the connivance of the SNGPL staff which was directly fitted with 18 inch main supply line. He said a loss of Rs 480 million was caused to the national kitty due to the act. The raiding team seized tools on the spot.
recovered: Police on Thursday recovered a kidnapped property dealer from a group of kidnappers. According to a police spokesperson, Sadr Divison SP Syed Ali had given a joint task to the police force of Raiwind, Sattukatla, Chuhng and other police stations to recover the abducted property dealer. Police arrested main suspect Sibhat Ullah who informed police about the house located in Manga Mandi where the kidnap victim was kept.
