Federal Ombudsman comes into action against Wapda
Islamabad: The Federal Ombudsman (Wafaqi Mohtasib), Syed Tahir Shahbaz taking notice of a complaint filed by father of Abdullah Jan who received serious wounds due to open electrical wires some five years back and started proceedings in this regard.
The complainant, Pervaiz Akhtar father of Syed Tahir Shahbaz have alleged that due to too much spending on medical treatment of his son, financial situation has become critical because of which it has become very hard to meet even daily expenses.
On this basis, the complainant has appealed to the Federal Ombudsman to issue directions to Wapda authorities to pay him compensation enabling him to get cosmetic surgery and operation of his wounded son. It merits mentioning here that Syed Tahir Shahbaz, resident of Mohallah Mohammadabad, Chur Harpal, street 7, Rawalpindi while going to school received current shots and was critically wounded on March 15, 2013. As his condition got deteriorated and became critical, the parents spent huge amount on his treatment worth lac of rupees and enabled him to recover.
However, burn scars are still evident on the entire body of his son from back side. Pervaiz Akhtar now wants to have cosmetic/plastic surgery and operation his son to get the scars covered. In this regard, Pervaiz Akhtar has approached the Federal ombudsman seeking its help for directing Wapda to pay compensation for this purpose.
