All KP health facilities to remain open during polls

PESHAWAR: On the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, emergency has been declared in all the public sector hospitals including tertiary care hospitals, district headquarters hospitals, Rural Health Centres and basic health units of the province.
The emergency will start from 8:00 am May 29 till the end of local government elections process. The decision was taken in view of the prevailing law and order situation in the province particularly the sensitivity of situation.
A circular issued from the office of Director General Health Services said all the heads of public hospitals and medical institutions have been directed to keep the health facilities opened on election days.
