The legal fraternity on Monday strongly condemned the siege of Sindh High Court and anti-terrorism courts by law enforcement agencies on May 23 and demanded strict action against those responsible for undermining the sanctity of the court.
The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) and Sindh High Court Bar Associations (SHCBA) adopted a resolution to condemn the incident which occurred during a court hearing of former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza and his supporters on May 23.
Demanding of the Sindh government to suspend the personnel involved in the attack, they maintained that such attacks by state officials could not under any circumstances be condoned. Expressing solidarity with the media personnel who were also beaten up, the resolution read that such unwarranted and uncalled for action by the law enforcement agencies spoke volumes regarding the lawlessness and disobedience of law.
Strike over Sialkot attack
