KARACHI: Pakistan junior handball team romped to their third straight win when they beat minnows Maldives in a one-sided encounter of the International Handball Federation (IHF) South and Central Asia Trophy 2018 at the Agriculture University Faisalabad’s handball court on Monday.
Pakistan juniors, who claimed bronze in the 2016 edition of the trophy in Dhaka, continued their blistering run, inflicting a 43-19 defeat on the Maldives.
Pakistan had defeated Nepal and Afghanistan on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Pakistan will face Bangladesh in their penultimate league fixture on Wednesday (tomorrow).
The Green-shirts will face India in their last outing on March 15.In another match, Nepal defeated Afghanistan 26-20, while India whipped Bangladesh 49-21. Meanwhile, Maldives Youth defeated Nepal Youth 26-23 after a thrilling encounter which saw both sides offering great resistance to each other.
