Justice Muslim annoyed over water supply schemes in Nausheroferoze

SUKKUR: The Chairman Water Commission, Justice (retd) Ameer Hani Muslim, on Friday visited the Doulatpur Minor, Nausheroferoze and expressed displeasure over discharging sewage and other effluents into the Doulatpur Minor without any treatment. Justice (retd) Muslim also expressed dissatisfaction over the occupation of land meant for sewage disposal and the failure of the district administration in recovering it.

The deputy commissioner proposed a water supply scheme to the citizens of Moro through the Rohri Canal. Justice (retd) Amir Hani Muslim rejected the proposal and directed the deputy commissioner to prepare a comprehensive water supply scheme. The chairman Water Commission observed that the district administration is playing with the lives of the people of Moro as they are being forced to consume contaminated water often mixed with sewage. He proposed establishing Reverse Osmosis plants to ensure clean potable drinking water. Earlier, the Chairman Water Commission, Justice Ameer Hani Muslim, visited the Drainage Disposal, Moro, in Nausharoferoz district. Those present at the occasion included District and Sessions Judge Nausharoferoz Syed Ghulam Shah, Secretary Irrigation Jamal Mustafa Syed, Deputy Commissioner Nausharoferoz Dr. Waseem Ali, SSP Imran Qureshi, Noor Ahmed XEN Public Health Department.

The chairman Water Commission directed the deputy commissioner Nausharoferoz to prepare a comprehensive proposal for the supply of clean potable water as well as the sanitation and drainage project. He also directed him to construct oxidation ponds for sewage treatment and get technical assistance and seek government financial assistance for this project. He directed him to remove the encroachment from the plots and to take stern action against the land grabbers who have occupied the land. He directed him to ensure security at the filter plants being constructed by the different NGOs. He also directed him to review the condition of the filter plants and ensure their full functioning. He also directed him to hand over these plants to the Public Health Engineering department.
