Kate Middleton leaves Queen Camilla 'furious' with bold move
Kate Middleton's decision to wear huge headpiece viewed as 'audacious power play'
Kate Middleton has sparked tensions within the royal household after making bold move.
At the recent state banquet, the Princess of Wales wore her largest tiara to the date, which left Queen Camilla furious.
As reported by Radar Online, insiders claimed that the Queen viewed Kate's move as "audacious power play."
An insider said, "Camilla was reportedly furious that Kate wore the enormous tiara at the banquet. She viewed it as yet another obvious move by Kate to steal the spotlight."
Adding, "Kate and William are positioning themselves with a lot of authority, almost as if Buckingham Palace were theirs. Camilla considers this unacceptable and hasn't hesitated to express her frustration to courtiers and senior royals."
Another source shared that as Kate Middleton, the future Queen has been taking on "more responsibilities across royal duties" and she also handles "it gracefully in public," Queen Camilla is "finding the change in influence and authority difficult to accept."
As per the outlet, Kate Middleton and Prince William's growing "centrality" is part of the strategy to ease King Charles' workload.
It is pertinent to mention that the Prince and Princess of Wales also received authority to issue Royal Warrants this year, making Kate Middleton the first Princess of Wales to hold this power in over 115 years.
