PPP leaders slam use of ‘derogatory’ language against judges
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) central and provincial leaders on Wednesday condemned what they believed was the use of derogatory language against the judges of the superior courts, saying the judiciary was strong enough to respond.
Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, the PPP leader Nafisa Shah said the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were using derogatory language against judiciary after the court verdicts against them.
Flanked by party’s activists including Senator Robina Khalid, she said it was astonishing that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was making hue and cry despite having own government at the centre.
This, she said, also demonstrated its weakness and irresponsibility as the ruling party leaders were complaining against own party’s government.
Nafisa Shah recalled that her party had always worked for the solution of Pakhtun problems and would continue the same policy in future.
She said that the PPP was a strong political force in the country and would form the next government in KP.
Nafisa Shah said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had started reforms in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata). She said that PPP had given identity to Pakhtuns during its government and paved way for Fata’s reforms.
