LAHORE: Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) Wednesday appointed Syed Fakhar Ali Shah President Pakistan Federation Baseball as director West Asia Baseball Development.
The Executive Committee meeting of Baseball Federation of Asia was held in Yilan, Taiwan on January 31, 2018. Syed Fakhar Ali Shah attended the meeting.Before roll call, Mr Tom CH Peng condoled the death of Syed Khawar Shah, President PFB/Director Development West Asian Region/Member at Large Baseball Federation of Asia. Every member in the meeting stands from his seat and remained silence for two minutes.
Tom CH Peng said that Shah was a beacon for the baseball players in Pakistan and was instrumental in the development and promotion of the sport of baseball in this region of the world. His absence will be felt for a long time to come. After roll call, the house unanimously approved the appointment of Syed Fakhar Ali Shah as Director West Asia Baseball Federation of Asia.
The house unanimously approved that BFA U-12 Asian Baseball Championship 2018 will be played in Taiwan and BFA U-18 Asian Baseball Championship 2018 will be played in Japan. The dates will be announce later. The house also approved amendment in tournament rules and regulations.
Shaukat Javed, Chairman, Sh Mazhar Ahmad Secretary General and Pakistan Federation Baseball congratulated Syed Fakhar Ali Shah on his fresh appointment.
