Elite Force to escort Naqeebullah Mahsud’s family to Karachi

WANA: The Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Police dispatched a contingent of the Elite Force to South Waziristan Agency to shift the family of Naqeebullah Mahsud so that it could appear before the investigation committee in Karachi, sources said on Sunday.

The sources said that two vehicles carrying personnel of the Elite Force from Tank district would reach Makeen to escort the family of Naqeebullah Mahsud to Karachi.

A delegation of Mahsud and Burki tribesmen would also leave for Karachi to raise the issue of extrajudicial killing of tribesmen with officials and political leaders in Karachi.

Naqeebullah Mahsud was killed a few days ago in Karachi in an action led by SSP Rao Anwaar, known as ‘encounter specialist’ because he claims to have killed a number of militants and criminals in police encounters. He had also described Naqeebullah Mahsud as a militant.

The Supreme Court has taken notice of the killing and protests have been staged across the country against Naqeebullah Mahsud’s assassination.
