Islamabad: In the light of directives of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started paying compensation to the affected people of Mouza Noon falling in sectors H-16 and H-17 of the federal capital.
In this connection, the CDA Land and Estate Wing has initially disbursed Rs100 million as compensation to the remaining affected people of sectors H-16 and H-17 of Islamabad.
An official of CDA has said the affected persons, who owned land up to two kanals, are being compensated.
The award of Mouza Noon and Badhana was announced in year 2007.
CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the Land and Estate Wing to ensure the payments to the affected people who owned land up to two kanals in the wake of directives of the IHC.
Acting upon the directions of CDA chairman, the Land and Estate Wing has made payments to 58 affected persons and took possession of 116 kanals of land in Mouza Noon.
In the meanwhile, in order to ensure transparency in payment procedure, the compensations are being made in the camp office established at the site instead of CDA offices and the concerned staff has been directed to ensure their presence in the camp office.
