CHITRAL: A team of doctors here on Saturday exhumed the body of a man who died under mysterious circumstances at home on April 14 this year.

Three doctors opened the grave of Aslam Baig in the presence of a civil judge.

They collected 15 samples from the body in the presence of his close relatives. The samples will be sent to Lahore and Peshawar for laboratory examination. The murder case was registered in October against the widow of Aslam Baig and a police constable at the Mastuj Police Station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The police arrested the widow and her alleged accomplice Constable Syed Shahab.

Aslam Baig was found dead on the night of April 14 this year.

According to witnesses, his wife Zakia attributed the death of her husband to ‘heart attack’.

However, her neighbours said that Constable Syed Shahab, son of Syed Islam Shah of Zupu, used to visit the home of Aslam Baig. And he married her five months after the death of Aslam Baig.

Meanwhile, the residents of Brep village lauded the performance of Station House Officer of Mastuj Police Station Muhammad Shafi Shufa for following the case without any pressure.
