CM says CPEC to usher in economic uplift in region
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a game changer project not only for Pakistan and China but also for the economic uplift of the entire region.
Addressing the joint ceremony of Chinese language students and giving performance grants to different colleges of the province, he said this historic project would guarantee the bright future of the people of the region.
The function was also addressed by CM Advisor on Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, Secretary Higher Education Syed Zafar Ali Shah and Special Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Baig who highlighted the program and steps for
improving the higher education and promoting Chinese language in the province in backdrop of the CPEC activities.
On this occasion, the chief minister gave admission letters to 200 students of higher education in different sciences for six months Chinese language course in three major universities of Shanghai, Shandong and Harbin.
Pervez Khattak expressed the confidence that the nominated students would attain education and learn Chinese language and would be the ambassadors and representatives of Pakistan.
He said it was high time for our students and skilled persons to learn Chinese language in the wake of the large scale investment of Chinese entrepreneurs in different sector of trade and industry.
The chief minister said provincial government had also planned exchange programs for students in China to get skills in various trades of technical education.
Pervez Khattak said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government was planning to include Central Asian States in the CPEC as the project will connect the Central Asia through Wakhan strip.
“Launching of different programs for learning Chinese and Pakistani languages is also essential for both the people for their progress and prosperity,” he added.
