Food factory sealed

LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority sealed a food factory while notices were issued to many others for various violations here Wednesday.

PFA officials said Food Authority director general along with his team raided Colonel Foods in Sheikhupura and sealed the factory for severe unhygienic sanitary conditions, presence of insects, use of banned food colours and etc.

The PFA team also destroyed a huge quantity of substandard edible products. In other raids, the PFA teams issued warning notices to Yasir Hotel (Jallo Morr), Ali Baba Cold Drink (Shahdara), Madina Restaurant, Ali Milk Shop, Faisal Bakers, Siddiqui Bakers (Sanda), Al-Fazal Gujjar Milk Shop, Sundar Dahi Bhallay, Naseem Bakers, Lucky Naan Shop, Khan Baba Chanye (Shadbagh), Billa Pan Shop, Hafiz Tayyab Naan Chanye, Mashallah Milk Shop and many others.

Meanwhile, the PFA also increased the size of its vigilance cell and 15 new officials were hired, the officials said, adding the cell was expanded to identify the persons involved in adulteration across the province.
