Islamabad: The sale of building material like sand and cement on roadsides is adversely affecting the natural beauty of the residential sectors that are otherwise quite clean and green and provide favourable living environment.
A temporary open air stall has been established in G-8 Markaz where the showrooms have already occupied the space of the main markets. Now sale of sand in the middle of this sector has added more problems for the residents. "The concerned authorities must remove showrooms and sand stall from the G-8 Markaz because both have created nuisance for the residents who otherwise like visiting markets to do shopping," said Fouzia Tabassum, a resident of G-8 Markaz.
Similarly, temporary sand stalls have also been set up in Sector G-9 that are often causing air pollution and other problems for the residents.
The Deputy Director Enforcement of Capital Development Authority (CDA) said it is responsibility of the environment wing to keep vigil over these kinds of activities that cause adverse affects on the natural environment of the green city. The CDA's Deputy Director Environment Wing said they have decided to launch operation against temporary stalls where building material is being sold by some elements.
