Court seeks whereabouts of man repatriated from Bagram prison

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday directed interior ministry to find out whereabouts of a man released and repatriated from Bagram prison, a US internment centre in Afghanistan.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah was hearing a petition of Justice Project Pakistan (JPP) filed on behalf of the families of Pakistani citizens detained at the infamous captivity centre of Bagram. JPP’s counsel Sara Belal stated that despite being released from Bagram prison and transferred to Pakistani authorities in September 2014, Saifullah was yet to reach his home. She said his family had no information about his status or whereabouts. She said it was in sheer violation of order passed by the high court to the interior ministry to provide unfettered access to the family and legal counsel of Bagram detainees repatriated to Pakistan.
She informed the court that a list provided by the government on Bagram detainees was not fully detailed.
