Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR) has said that radical Hindus of India could not be allowed to set upon the defenceless Muslim majority in the Valley of Kashmir and silence them into submission by the Indian occupation forces, says a press release.

"BJP and RSS should not tip the measure of atrocities and load future generations of India with a sense of guilt and criminal liability. Human Rights violations are not time barred and question of grievance could well flag itself at all times in the future," JKCHR President Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani who is currently on visit to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir stated this while expressing his utter disbelief on the statement made by Mukul Rohatgi Attorney General of India that there was nothing wrong, in using a Kashmiri as a human shield by the Indian security forces.

Dr Gilani said that if law officers of India back the abuse of human rights, the case needs to be taken to the many decent and civilised Indians and to the UN whether India in its present shape qualifies to be a member nation of the United Nations.

JKCHR president said that the views expressed by the highest law officer in India endorsing the rogue behaviour of the soldiers in Kashmir are condemnable and this anti-Muslim chorus could spill over into other parts of the world, in particular Europe which is home for many Indians, Pakistanis and Kashmiris and could disturb harmony and good community relations.

He said that there is growing evidence that RSS and The Hindu Mahasabha of August 1947 is returning on the political scene of India and this time around, it has found handy tools in Jammu and Kashmir. The return is fully supported by various elements in the New Delhi administration and it is multi-faceted.

Dr. Nazir Gilani said that RSS and The Hindu Mahasabha have an anti-Muslim history in Jammu and Kashmir. As early as in 1931 when Kashmiri Muslims suffered at the hands of Maharaja’s forces, RSS and The Hindu Mahasabha volunteers from Lahore entered the State to help the Maharaja forces to quell the Muslim uprising. Hindus in the British India countered the All India Kashmir Committee Muslim support to Kashmiri Muslims by presenting a counter protest note to the Viceroy.

He said that Indian security forces need to be stopped and international community has to be updated on the continued wave of human rights abuses committed by a soldier in uniform in Kashmir. Communal forces sitting in the Government and administration in Delhi have reduced the Kashmiri Muslim to a process of life and these forces do not want a Kashmiri Muslim to graduate for a quality of life.
