Sindh minister says Bahria Town offers to develop Ibne Qasim Park
KARACHI: Bahria Town authorities have voluntarily assured to provide full assistance to Sindh government in discarding the heaps of garbage in Karachi.
In an interview, Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz said that the cleanliness drive will be launched from Monday for which Sindh government is in continuous contact. He said that the public will see the result in one week. --INP
Our correspondent adds: Meanwhile, Sindh Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro said that the provincial government had taken the custody of the Benazir Bhutto Park, Boat Basin, from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) by following the legislation.
While talking about this development, he said that the Benazir Bhutto Park, which is spread over an area of 46-acre, came under the Sindh government’s custody two and a half months ago.
“In the Karachi flower show and a three-day drive, the flowers of the local government’s nursery were beautifully decorated,” he said. “All those parks that aren’t looked after by the KMC properly will be managed by the department of the local government,” the minister said. “The Bahria Town has also offered us for the development of the Ibne Qasim Park,” he added.
