Kite-flying continues in violation of ban orders
Rawalpindi: Though the local administration have been putting in its best efforts to implement ban on kite-flying the 'brave hearts' continue to violate the government orders in the face of raids and arrest by the police teams.
The police teams have raided dozens of areas in last few days and taken action against kite-fliers but it seems that there are many who are not ready to follow the directives of the provincial government as kites are still being seen in the skies during the day time.
"I spent my weekly holiday at home and too much surprise there were many youngsters who were flying kites without fear of the police raids. I don't know what the local administration is doing against these violators but I think every citizen should follow the law," said Akmal Bhatti, a resident of Sadiqabad.
According to the police spokesperson, they have been conducting raids against kite sellers and flyers in the city and so far arrested over 200 people who were involved in violation of ban on kite flying. He said the citizens should not fly kites and use chemical twines, as it pose danger for human lives, adding "Nobody would be allowed to sell or fly kites in the city and the cases would be registered against the violators."
Ghayoor Akhtar, a resident of Satellite Town, said if the youngsters are flying kites it means that kites and strings are available in the markets for sale so there is a need to launch strict action against those who are involved in this illegal practice.
