Two PR drivers suspended for stopping to buy Nan, Pakora
LAHORE: Pakistan Railways CEO Muhammad Javaid Anwar has taken stern action against a driver and assistant driver of Rawalpindi division.
After investigation held by divisional superintendent of Rawalpindi, driver Abdul Majeed and assistant driver Muhammad Saqib were suspended as they had stopped a railway engine at Gujranwala station to purchase Nan and Pakoras.
The relief engine was returning from Lala Musa to Gujrawanwal as it had been sent to Lala Musa railway station for the restoration of another train’s engine.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has decided to outsource Shalimar Express, Khushhal Khan Khattak Express and Bolan Mail.
For this purpose, bidding documents will be opened on December 20. According to railways officials, a Korean company has taken interest to run Shalimar express as it has acquired bidding documents. Shalimar Express is a daily express train service between Lahore and Karachi.
