Presiding over the prize distribution ceremony provincial ombudsman, Asad Ashraf Malik, urged students to always dream big and keep striving to fulfil them.

He observed that the thirst to obtain positions in annual examinations creates a healthy environment of competition among young students and this should not come to an end as it was this zeal that would make students achieve success in future as well.

BIEK chairman, Mohammad Akhtar Ghori, said everyone had equal rights to education, while it was extremely important for everyone to get a better education. He mentioned that dedicated teachers were the real force behind producing talented students.

Replying to a question, the chairman discouraged students from going to coaching centres as they had ruined the image of government colleges. He was of the view that education department needed to take strict actions against irregular and non-punctual teachers in public colleges.

BIEK controller of examination, Muhammad Imran Khan Chishti, opined that all public and private colleges should follow a standard policy with respect to the beginning of the academic year.

It was unfortunate that private colleges start their admission processes on the basis of SSC Part I results, while government admissions usually begin in October every year. “Owing to flaws in our centralised admission policy several known colleges have been ruined.”
