SADDA: The personnel of Kurram Levies recovered a bomb from a house in the Lower Kurram Agency, official sources said on Sunday. The sources said the Kurram Levies personnel raided a house in the Yaqubi village after the intelligence agencies reported that terrorists were planning an attack on the upcoming Eidul Azha.
The sources said the Levies force recovered a 20-kilogram bomb from the house and arrested the owner Nazir Hussain.
The sources said the terrorists wanted to target an Imambargh in Parachinar, the headquarters of Kurram Agency, during Eid. The arrested person was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
HANGU: The bomb disposal unit (BDU) officials defused a roadside bomb in Tora Warai, official sources said on Sunday.
They said terrorists had planted a two-kilogram remote-controlled bomb on the roadside. The sources said that locals spotted the bomb and informed the police. The BDU team reached the area and defused the bomb.
Meanwhile, officials of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a militant in the limits of Doaba Police Station on Sunday, sources said.
The sources said the law-enforcement agency arrested a militant identified as Zahid, a resident of Chapri Naryab, during a raid near Bypass Road. He was allegedly involved in attacks on security forces and government installations.
Meanwhile, several suspected persons were arrested during a search operation in various parts of the DI Khan District, official sources said on Sunday. The sources said that police launched a search operation in various parts of the district and arrested several suspected persons from the residential areas on the Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan Road.
