Girl commits suicide in Chitral

CHITRAL: A girl student committed suicide in Harchin village of Laspur valley, officials said on Saturday.

Police officials said that one Tahira, a college student, had registered a complaint against Deedar Ali, a watchman of the Government High School Harchin, accusing him of teasing her on her way home a few months back. “The girl approached the school headmaster and lodged a complaint against the accused but no action was taken on her complaint,” said a local, adding, she reached the GHS on Thursday during the school hours and died after consuming poison.

Police also arrested the alleged eve-teaser from Chitral city, who was accused of forcing the college girl to commit suicide.
