CTP devises special traffic plan for Haj season

In order to avert traffic jams on city roads during Haj season, City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi have devised a special traffic plan aimed at facilitating the intending Haj pilgrims.
All arrangements in this regard have been made while the traffic plan would be implemented to control traffic on the city roads Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Iftikhar ul Haq said this while issuing special traffic plan here on Wednesday at Race Course Traffic Headquarters.
The CTO informed that traffic squads have been deployed at all main intersections of the city whereas a special helpline has also been set up at Race Course Traffic Office with deployment of special squad.
The CTP helpline 1915 and 051 9272616 will provide 24 hour help and assistance to the citizens.
He said that Traffic Police have formulated a comprehensive traffic plan for the provision of all possible facilities to the intending Haj pilgrims and other road users regarding traffic.
He said that circle supervision will be conducted by DSPs while he himself will monitor the overall traffic situation of the city.
Duty timing of traffic wardens has been increased aimed at ensuring the smooth traffic flow on city roads.
The CTO said special arrangements have been made with deployment of DSPs, inspectors and wardens to control the traffic jams so that the intending Haj pilgrims could easily reach at their destinations within shortest possible time.
He said in view of the security of the citizens parking of vehicle near in and out gate of Benazir Bhutto International Airport would not be allowed.
Wrong parking of vehicles on the city roads would strictly be checked and negligence on part of traffic police officials would not be tolerated, he added.
He urged the citizens to cooperate with traffic police so that all traffic related problems could be addressed properly.
Under the plan traffic police officers have been directed to keep a vigilant eye on suspicious vehicles.
Strict action in accordance with the law has also been ordered against vehicles having tinted glasses or moving in the city without number plates, he added.
He said traffic wardens have also been directed to work with dedication and commitment and ensure the traffic flow so that traffic mess particularly on congested roads could be averted and the intending Haj pilgrims could be provided relief.
