MANSEHRA: The police claimed to have chalked out traffic plan to provide better services to tourists before and after Eidul Fitr on Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad route and Karakoram Highway (KKH).

“All sort of vacations of traffic wardens and related staff have been suspended till further order. Policemen will be deployed at places prone to sliding in the Kaghan valley for safety of tourists,” said a police official, Jamal Zeb, while talking to reporters on Saturday.

He said that the traffic police were expecting a huge influx of tourists in Kaghan valley on this Eid and evolved a strategy to facilitate them.

The official said traffic wardens would also provide vehicle repairing services to tourists in Kaghan, and information centres had been set up in Mansehra, Balakot and Kaghan.

“We have also erected signboards, which would be a source of navigation for tourists, besides information provided at centres in many places on Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road,” said Jamal Zeb.

He said that deputy commissioner in Mansehra had also imposed Section 144, banning entry of heavy traffic, trucks, trolleys and dumpers into the district. The violators would be taken to task under relevant laws.
