Pakistan triumphed over India militarily, diplomatically: Bilawal
Bilawal says he travelled to different countries to represent Pakistan at request of president and PM
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Friday said just as no enemy could defeat Pakistan due to the bravery of its armed forces, the country could not be vanquished on the diplomatic front either.
Addressing a large gathering of the party supporters who welcomed him at the Old Terminal Karachi Airport upon his return from a prolonged foreign tour, Bilawal said he had conveyed Pakistan’s message of peace, Kashmir, and the rights of Sindh during his visits to various countries as part of a diplomatic mission.
He thanked the people for coming in large numbers to receive him.
Bilawal said he travelled to different countries to represent Pakistan at the request of the president and prime minister.
“I took Pakistan’s narrative to Europe, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations.” Bilawal told the gathering that he had visited four different countries on the directives of the prime minister, where he conveyed to the international community the message of peace from Pakistan.
Referring to the recent Pakistan-India conflict, Bilawal said Pakistan demonstrated its ability to defeat a much larger enemy.
“Our armed forces inflicted a humiliating defeat on India, and we are proud of our military. The enemy could not defeat us on the battlefield. Similarly, on the diplomatic front, Pakistan emerged victorious while India failed.”
The PPP chairman said he represented Pakistan globally with the permission of the president and the prime minister. “I carried the message of peace to the world on behalf of Pakistan. The issue of Kashmir is linked to Pakistan’s very existence. We raised our voice for Kashmir on every platform. From my grandfather, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, onwards, the PPP has always championed the cause of Kashmir.” This time, however, we are fortunate to have President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in leadership roles.” The PPP chairman declared that Pakistan won the war even at the diplomatic level, saying, “Pakistan stood with the truth while India stood with falsehood. India’s narrative failed on international media platforms.” Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also addressed the gathering.
