MINGORA: The International Museum Day was celebrated in Swat, following the global trend. This year’s theme, “The Future of Museums in a Rapidly Changing World,” led to detailed discussions among experts, researchers, and culture enthusiasts.

Both countries, representing ancient civilizations, are actively engaged in safeguarding valuable assets of human history by learning from each other’s experiences and traditions.

The speaker noted that the friendship between Pakistan and China dates back centuries. The historical connections are reminiscent of the Silk Road, where the sound of camel bells still echoes. They mentioned that every Chinese child knows the story of Buddhist monk Xuan Zang, who traveled west in search of sacred Buddhist scriptures and spent a considerable amount of time in present-day Pakistan.

In 2019, both countries signed a formal agreement to promote cooperation in cultural heritage preservation, archaeological research, expert training, exhibition exchanges, and other fields. In 2023, China proposed the establishment of the Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation Alliance, which Pakistan enthusiastically joined. The alliance aims to foster understanding, cooperation, and preservation of cultural heritage among Asian civilizations. The ceremony emphasized that the integration of science, technology, and literature is enhancing the social significance of museums.
