Over 18,000 cops deployed for polio workers’ security

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar Monday said over 18,000 cops have been mobilised for security duty with polio vaccination teams across the province.
He said 457 inspectors, 1,013 sub-inspectors, 1,654 assistant sub-inspectors and more than 350 female police constables specifically have been assigned to sensitive areas. Lahore alone has deployed over 1,500 security personnel to safeguard vaccination teams. The IGP ordered all Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to personally monitor security arrangements in their respective areas.
