MANSEHRA: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has continued to suspend power supply in the city and its suburbs during the month of Ramazan, causing inconvenience to both domestic and commercial consumers.
“The Pesco is still observing load-shedding during fasting hours, creating difficulties for people here,” said Saddaqat Ali Swati, a resident, while speaking to reporters.
Power outages have been reported in Channia Upper and Lower, King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad Road, and surrounding localities during Ramazan.
“Residents of the city and its suburbs have been regularly paying their utility bills, with a recovery ratio of almost 99 per cent, yet Pesco continued to suspend power supply even during the holy month,” Swati added.
Another local, Mohammad Waheed, said that the federal government had announced there would be no load shedding during Ramazan, yet Mansehra and its suburbs continue to experience power outages.
“Sometimes, Pesco suspends power supply even during Sehri and Iftar, adding to people’s distress,” he added.
