Piers Morgan slams Jameela Jamil over insensitive remark about British people

Piers Morgan has slammed actress Jameela Jamil over her insensitive remark about British people.

Talking on the US podcast Yestergays, Meghan Markle’s friend launched an anti-colonial tirade against Britains, calling them “the most evil people in history” and comparing Britain to Marvel villain Thanos.

“Americans think British people are so sweet, which is crazy, because British people are truly the most evil people in history. Britain is like Thanos [the genocidal Marvel Comics villain]... we colonised the world,” said the California-based actress.

During the podcast, she also revealed that The Good Place director Michael Schur wanted to make her wealthy British character with more likeable characteristics.

But Jamil argued that British people are not “likeable to anyone, they are horrible, they are awful.”

In response to such brutal remarks, the renowned broadcaster posted on X, “Excellent.. then obviously, Ms Jamil will no longer wish to grace us with her graceless presence.”

Moreover, Jamil is also a vocal supporter of Meghan Markle. She attended a £32,000-a-year private school in London, appeared in Meghan's guest-edited edition of British Vogue in 2019, was a guest on Meghan's Archetypes podcast in 2022 where she defended her, and shares a connection with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex through their mutual move to California.
