Trump delivers ‘Golden Age of America’ pitch in Georgia as US midterm battle intensifies

In a core argument heading into the 2026 US midterm elections, President Donald Trump proclaimed that a “Golden Age of America is upon us.”

Trump held a rally in Georgia to streamline his message ahead of next year’s midterm elections, combining political messaging with attacks on Democrats and endorsements for Republican candidates in what was unequivocally one of his most direct speeches since returning to the White House.

On Wednesday, Trump initiated his address with a joke that elicited loud cheers from supporters briefly pretending to announce another White House bid before explaining that he was joking.

“Well, thank you very much, everybody. It's a special place, and I am here to announce my candidacy, "pausing as the crowd erupted in applause before adding, "I'm only kidding. I'm only kidding.”

“We have some great candidates running. They got to win by a lot. Otherwise, we're going communist, "Trump said.

Trump reiterated his label of Democrats as communist, accusing them of actively striving to defeat his administration’s rules tax cuts and immigration enforcement measures.

Election reliability remained a unifying idea of Trump’s address, with the President renewing many of the arguments that have become core tenets of his political messaging.

While the speech reflects a dynamic combination of campaign rhetoric with policy implementation, enforcement, pricing reforms and his newly launched “Trump Accounts” investment programme for children.

Trump concluded the rally with a statement telling supporters that the United States had entered a “Golden Age” under his leadership and prompting Republicans to build on their electoral gains.

“So, ladies and gentlemen of Georgia, the Golden Age of America is upon us,”

“We will make America powerful again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America healthy again. We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again, said Trump.”
