YANGON: A Roman Catholic priest was knifed to death in his church in Myanmar by members of an anti-junta rebel group, an official and the head of the country´s bishops conference said.
Father Donald Martin Ye Naing Win was attacked on Friday by 10 people from a “people´s defence force” (PDF) in central Sagaing region´s Shwebo township. Myanmar is four years into a bloody civil conflict between the junta and various armed groups including PDFs -- bands of former civilians who have taken up arms to oust the generals from power.
