Rs3.4m released for treatment of cops, families
LAHORE:IGP Dr Usman Anwar Monday released another Rs3.4million tranche for the treatment of employees suffering from serious illnesses and their families.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Rs1.4million was released for cornea transplant to retired driver constable Asghar Ali, Rs0.5million for SP Irfan Amir for his eye treatment, Rs250,000 for Corporal Saif Tariq’s wife’s cancer treatment, Rs200,000 for driver constable Tariq Azam for open heart surgery. The IGP released Rs100,000 each for Traffic Warden Muhammad Abdullah and the widow of Sub-Inspector Mehboob Hussain for treatment. The IGP gave Rs100,000 each to Inspector Sher Muhammad, Constable Maroof Iqbal and ex- Sub-Inspector Jawad Waseem medical treatment. Former Inspector Azhar Iqbal and Head Constable Muzaffar Ali were given Rs100,000 each for treatment and ASI Shamim Tariq, Constable Asif Ali, Constable Ashfaq Hussain and Inspector Umar Farooq were given Rs620,000 for treatment expenditures.
Weekly police parade organised
The weekly general police parade was held across the province including Lahore on Monday. Senior officers inspected the parade of personnel of Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Ladies Police, OCU, Investigation Wing and Operation Wing. Inspections were also conducted at the district officers’ quarters, motor transport wing, miscellaneous stores, uniform warehouses and other departments. In a statement, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar said parade is organised to keep the personnel alert and maintain an atmosphere of discipline, unity and brotherhood among them.
IGP listens to issues of cops
IGP Dr Usman Anwar Monday met with police employees and their families at the Central Police Office and listened to their problems.
The IGP asked Additional IG Punjab to provide resolve promotion issue of traffic wardens Kashif Mian, Liaquat Ali and Ahsan Riaz. He forwarded the transfer request of Ghazi Head Constable Zeeshan to the DIG Establishment II. The IGP directed the DIG Establishment II to listen to the issue of the wife of martyred constable Abdullah and transfer plea of Head Constable Kamran Haider.
