PESHAWAR: The Elementary and Secondary Education Department has formed a committee to investigate the reasons behind the massive migration of students from public sector schools to private institutions and formulate recommendations within a month.
The committee has been constituted in light of the recommendations of an earlier inquiry committee about the reported examination’s specific massive migrations of students to private schools.
The committee would be headed by the Special Secretary (Establishment) of the Education Department, Qaiser Alam Khan and the Director (Registration), Private Schools Regulatory Authority, Zohaib Hayat, Chairman, Board of Intermediate Secondary Education, Abbottabad, Mohammad Shafiq, Regional Professional Development Centre, Peshawar, Principal Abdur Raqib, and Arsalan Ahmad, section officer (Boards and Trainings) at the Education Department, as members.
The committee has been tasked with checking and examining the records of students, particularly those who migrated to private schools during the previous academic year, and identifying the reasons behind the migrations.
The committee would also examine the existing migration rules of BISEs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and suggest amendments.
