FIR registered against PTI’s Aliya Hamza for assaulting cop
Incident allegedly occurred during a confrontation between law enforcement agencies and political workers at PTI rally
LAHORE: After Ali Amin Gandapur, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Aliya Hamza, a PTI leader on the charges of assaulting a police officer and aiding in the escape of PTI leader Hammad Azhar who has been declared proclaimed offender in 9th May case registered at Sarwar police station.
The incident allegedly occurred during a confrontation between law enforcement agencies and political workers at PTI rally on Saturday.
According to the FIR, Aliya Hamza tore the uniform of the officer during a heated exchange and actively facilitated the escape of Hammad Azhar, who is facing several inquiries.
The scuffle reportedly took place near a rally point, where police were attempting to control the gathering. Police sources claim that Hamza’s aggressive behaviour escalated the situation, leading to chaos at the scene.
A day earlier KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was booked for assaulting policemen in a case registered at Batapur Police Station.
The case has been registered under section 216 of PPC (Harbouring offender who has escaped from custody or whose apprehension has been ordered) at Kahna Police Station.
